Building a Distinctive Campaign System from Concept to Execution

Life is a Verb began with a single, defining idea and extended into a cohesive visual system across CGI video, print, and B2B touchpoints.

Responsibility: Originated the core concept and led art direction across all outputs, shaping the visual system that repositioned the brand from materials-focused to impact-driven.

Concept & Direction

DSM had long been seen as a supplier of materials—valued for technical quality, but disconnected from the real-world impact of its work. The opportunity was to shift that perception by making the outcome, not the input, the focus of the story.

I developed a central concept built on a simple idea: don’t show what the materials are—show what they do.

Using high-fidelity CGI, we translated biomaterials into human movement and recovery—fibers becoming a sprinting leg, polymers enabling surgical precision, membranes powering a beating heart. The goal was to create a visual language that was both scientifically grounded and emotionally resonant, making complex innovation immediate and understandable.

This concept became the foundation for a cohesive campaign system that could extend across motion, print, and internal communications—shifting the narrative from materials to impact.
